Work with me
A medieval manuscript illustration depicting a religious or royal gathering with seven men dressed in ornate robes, seated and standing around an open book on a stand, inside a Gothic cathedral.

Are you …

  • drowning trying to publish under heavy teaching and service burdens?

  • overwhelmed by reviewer feedback and unsure where to start?

  • sitting on a draft because you’re afraid it’s not up to snuff?

  • approaching tenure or promotion and worrying how to communicate the quality, impact, and significance of your work?

  • tired of correcting mistakes introduced by non-specialist editors unfamiliar with historical archives, classical texts, medieval manuscripts, or Latin grammar?

If any of that resonates with you, I can help.

Strategy

I help you clarify your ideas and interpret feedback, offering support for your authentic voice.

Let my expertise work for you

I know how crushing the pressure of academia can be … the fear of putting yourself out there … the difficulty of communicating your discipline and its norms to outsiders.

I also know what it takes to succeed.

In 12+ years as a professor, I have published multiple articles, book chapters, an edited volume, and a monograph; completed a book manuscript while teaching four classes per semester; and earned tenure in the first year of a pandemic. As an early medieval historian, I know the genre conventions for history, classics, and medieval studies—and have the language skills to edit in them. As a (recovering) perfectionist, I have a keen eye for details and enjoy getting them right.

I specialize in editing for classicists, medievalists, and historians more broadly. I am well-versed in Chicago and MHRA styles and have edited texts with material in Latin, German, French, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Feel confident about your writing, get your ideas published, and have more time for other parts of life that spark joy.
